EastEnders' Christian plans wedding to boyfriend Syed

EastEnders is planning its first gay wedding.

Christian, played by 39-year-old John Partridge, was filmed popping the question to Syed last week.

They began their love affair in secret in 2009 as Syed prepared to marry his girlfriend.

Marc Elliot, who plays Syed, won the British Soap Award for Best Newcomer in 2010.
