Christopher Nolan will produce another reinvention of Batman after 'The Dark Knight Rises'.

Warner Bros. president Jeff Robinov has confirmed a third inception of the story franchise of the Caped Crusader - recently played by George Clooney and Christian Bale - is planned, with 'Inception' director Christopher on board to be involved.

He told the Los Angeles Times: "We have the third Batman, but then we'll have to reinvent Batman. Chris Nolan and Emma Thomas will be producing it, so it will be a conversation with them about what the next phase is."

Earlier this week Gary Oldman - who plays Commissioner James Gordon in the movie series - revealed Christopher was "negotiating" some sort of return.

He said: "Chris is always negotiating so when he says that he won't come back, I don't know, but he kind of brings 'The Dark Knight Rises' round to ‘Batman Begins’ - it's a really thrilling story, it would have to be to top 'The Dark Knight'."

The forthcoming instalment of the franchise will see Anne Hathaway play Catwoman and Tom Hardy as the villainous Bane.
