Mr Ashmawy entered a guilty plea to a charge of drink driving at this his first court appearance .
His lawyers said the suspended 2fm host was very embarrassed and wished to apologise for driving while over the alcohol limit.
It is understood he was arrested near his home in Rathmines in the early hours of the morning two weeks ago when he caused minor damage to another car while trying to park.
The broadcaster’s driving license has been suspended for two years and one day and he has also been fined €350.
