'Fair Game' an outstanding political drama

Director: Doug Liman

Cast: Naomi Watts, Sean Penn, Michael Kelly

Cert: 12

Liman’s telling film, based on true events, reminds us of the false reports of weapons of mass destruction to justify the invasion of Iraq by the Bush administration and it’s alliance with Tony Blair.

It is, indeed, a film that shows two governments in a bad light, but particularly that of the USA who ruined the career of a dedicated CIA agent, even placing her in personal danger, by outing her after her husband, a United States ambassador, wrote an article for the New York Times revealing that no WMDs were ever found.

Based on books written by the central characters in the drama, this outstanding film considers the human implications for them.
