Kidman wasted in charmless ‘Just Go With It’

Director: Dennis Dugan

Cast: Jennifer Aniston, Adam Sandler, Nicole Kidman, Brooklyn Decker

Cert: 12

Adam Sandler remains an acquired taste, an actor generally devoid of charm or screen chemistry whose films remain very much in the Second Division … as with this one, which also contains Nicole Kidman in the cast without giving her anything worthwhile to do.

In his younger days Danny (Sandler) has been betrayed by a cheating fiancée and turns his misfortune to good use with the ladies through sob stories.

Now a successful medico he runs into trouble when he falls genuinely in love with Palmer (Decker) and enlists Katherine (Aniston, doing what she does) to act as his ghastly ex … and for no apparent reason they all head off to Hawaii on holiday.

It’s a tiresome romantic film devoid of wit and charm.
