Jedward win Eurosong

Jedward will represent Ireland in Eurovision 2011 with their song 'Lipstick' after beating off competition from four rivals in a televised sing-off.

The Dublin twins beat entrants Nikki Kavanagh, Don Mescall, The Vard Sisters and newcomers Bling in the 'Late Late Show' contest.

Jedward received 98 points, pipping Kavanagh who came second with 96.

The contest takes place in Germany in May, with the twins first having to pass the semi-final stage.

RTE changed the format this year to include mentors, Irish music industry professionals, to help each of the acts.

Votes from the public counted for one-third of the final tally, with regional juries contributing the rest.
