Gleeson film to open Sundance Festival

Brendan Gleeson’s new film 'The Guard' will open the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.

It is one of 16 films that will compete in the official world competition and one of three Irish films screening at Sundance this year.

The other films representing Ireland include 'Knuckle' directed by Ian Palmer and 'Small Change' directed by Cathy Brady.

Both films open tomorrow.
