Colin Firth will be hoping to extend his winning streak just hours after landing a Golden Globe.

The Bafta Film Award nominations will be announced in the next hour.

Firth is strongly fancied for the best actor prize for his portrayal of King George VI in 'The King's Speech'.

The movie is tipped to be nominated in the best film category alongside 'The Social Network'.

The annual awards – the biggest movie bash in the UK – will take place on February 13 at the Royal Opera House, in London, for the fifth year running.

The event, which will be screened on BBC1 next month, attracts some of the biggest names in Hollywood as well as home-grown talent.

The shortlists will be unveiled at Bafta’s headquarters in Piccadilly, London by screen stars Dominic Cooper and Talulah Riley.
