Culture Ireland to launch year of Irish arts in the US

Culture Ireland's year of Irish Arts in the US, "Imagine Ireland" is being launched in New York later.

Actor Gabriel Byrne and Culture Minister Mary Hanafin are among those who will be present at the launch.

"Imagine Ireland" is a year-long season of Irish arts in America in 2011.

The initiative will showcase outstanding creative talent from Ireland in conjunction with leading festivals, venues and institutions across the United States.

Culture Ireland is the state agency for the promotion of Irish arts across the world.
