Kerry Katona hopes 'Dancing On Ice' will mark a "fresh start" in her career.

The reality TV star, who has four children - Molly, nine, Lilly-Sue, seven, Heidi, three, and two-year-old Max - hopes viewers of the ITV1 show will judge her on her skating ability rather than on her past reputation.

She explained: "Everyone's got a past but it's a fresh slate for everybody. It's a new day, a new start, and I just don't think it would be fair for any of us, not just me, to be judged on our past."

Katona – who is partnered with professional ice skater Dan Whiston – is also keen to make her kids proud by appearing in the series.

She added to Closer magazine: "I want to put a good memory in my kids' heads. I want them to say: 'That's my mum and I'm proud'. That's all I want. I've put them through so much over the last few years.

"I don't want to let anyone down. I really am feeling the pressure now because my partner won last year, but as long as he knows I've done my best...I want my kids to feel dead proud of me."
