Dorff considers new treatment of 'Blade' character
Stephen Dorff is keen to reprise his role in a 'Blade' prequel.
The actor played villain Deacon Frost in the original vampire action movie, which was released in 1999, and admits he and the film's director Stephen Norrington have been discussing a new project which focuses on Deacon.
Revealing how the pair were inspired by the success of the 'Twilight' franchise, he told movie blog Dark Lord Bunnykins: "Me and Steve Norrington had a cool treatment for that, and when vampires got all this trending again, we thought we should do the adult version, more of like a 'Scarface' Deacon Frost movie.
"'Blade' was such a '90s thing. I didn't want to do a 'Blade' movie, I just really wanted to take Deacon and then do a whole other thing which was much more today."
The 37-year-old actor recently revealed how he loves being "cool again", following his role as lonely rock star Johnny Marco in Sofia Coppola's new film 'Somewhere'.
He said: "The reaction has been massive. I've done more interviews than ever before.
"Sofia and I have been friends for a long time and she approached me. She rediscovered me - she made me cool again.
"Now I have amazing roles coming to me, all because of her."
