Rubberbandits announce Dublin return
Limerick comedy hip-hop duo The Rubberbandits are to return to Dublin on Saturday February 19, 2011 to play at the Tripod venue in Dublin, it was announced today.
Their Christmas Party at The Button Factory last Thursday sold out.
The enigmatic duo, who made hilarious appearances on RTÉ’s 'Liveline' and 'The Late Late Show' on the weekend, shot to global notoriety last week, when the video for their latest single “Horse Outside” went viral on Youtube.
An online campaign has urged the public to but the single this week in an attempt to beat 'X Factor' singer Matt Cardle in the race to become Christmas number one, in similar style to the victory for Rage Against The Machine's 'Killing in the Name' in the UK last year.
“Horse Outside” is currently at number two in the Irish charts, and has received almost three million hits on Youtube since it was launched more than a week ago.
Tickets for the Tripod gig go on sale from Ticketmaster, City Discs, and usual outlets tomorrow priced €17 & 20.
