Phil – who has battled alcoholism and crack cocaine addiction in the BBC One soap – will be discovered by love rival Ian, after he collapses in the local nightclub. Phil has been blackmailing married Ian for money over his affair with Glenda Mitchell, while also sleeping with her himself.
