Damon linked with Blomkamp project

Matt Damon is in talks to join the cast of 'Elysium'.

The Oscar-winning actor and screenwriter is reportedly in early negotiations to appear in Neill Blomkamp's upcoming sci-fi drama alongside the star of 'District 9' - also directed by the South African-born writer - Sharlto Copley.

While the 'Invictus' star's role in the movie has not yet been confirmed, Matt and his management team are said to be in the first stage of discussions about whether a role in the drama would work out for him.

If he does agree to appear in 'Elysium' - which is largely surrounded in mystery at present - it will be the first time an A-list star has featured in one of Blomkamp's films.
