Blanche voted best-loved Corrie character

Sharp-tongued Blanche Hunt has beaten Weatherfield legends such as Hilda Ogden and Elsie Tanner to be named Coronation Street’s best-loved character of all time.

The battleaxe, who was written out of the show this year following the real-life death of actress Maggie Jones a year ago, topped the Inside Soap poll.
