Potter star Radcliffe is UK's richest young performer
Daniel Radcliffe is the richest British star under 30.
The âHarry Potterâ actor has made an estimated âŹ54.3m, âŹ30m of which comes from the final two films in the series âThe Deathly Hallowsâ, alone, almost âŹ18m more than the second-placed star, 25-year-old Keira Knightley, who has made a fortune of âŹ36m so far.
Four of the top five money-makers in the list compiled by heat magazine come from the wizard movie series made famous by Radcliffe, with Emma Watson and Rupert Grint making âŹ24.6m and âŹ22.7m respectively.
âTwilight: Sagaâ actor Robert Pattinson â who appeared in âHarry Potter and the Goblet of Fireâ â was placed fifth, having earned âŹ22m so far.
Britainâs highest earning music star is âBleeding Loveâ singer Leona Lewis, who has generated a âŹ15m fortune since winning âThe X Factorâ in 2006, placing her in sixth place.
Heat editor Sam Delaney said the list proved not all rich people are âcorrupt, cigar-chomping fat catsâ.
He said: âIn these tight financial times, thereâs a great deal of animosity felt towards societyâs richest. But who could possibly resent the millions earned by a charming young rascal like Daniel Radcliffe?
âThe heat rich list is proof that not all mega-rich people are corrupt, cigar-chomping fat cats. This list is full of young people who have largely made their cash out of putting smiles on other peopleâs faces.â
âX Factorâ judge Cheryl Cole has earned âŹ9.4m, putting her ahead of all her Girls Aloud bandmates.
