Andre back in business after medical scare

Peter Andre returned to performing last night, following emergency surgery to remove a kidney stone.

The ‘Behind Closed Doors’ singer had to cancel two dates in his UK tour when he was rushed to hospital last Friday complaining of “excruciating pain” in his stomach, which left him fearing for his life.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper: “He was on all fours riddled with pain when his road manager walked into his room.

“Pete was really frightened for his life. He felt very disorientated and did not know what was wrong with him.”

He was treated and released from Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, South England before taking the stage at holiday resort Butlins in Minehead last night, where he sung, but, as he is still recovering, wasn’t able to dance.

Peter’s Butlins show was moved from last Saturday to last night but he has had to postpone Friday’s date in Plymouth and to reschedule a show scheduled for tonight in Ipswich, after doctors advised him to rest for a further 24 hours.

A statement from the star’s management said: “Peter would like to thank everyone for their support and understanding.”
