'X-Factor' contender Katie Waissel said she was "focusing" on tonight's show after a week which has seen further revelations about her 81-year-old porn star grandmother make headlines.
Sheila Vogel has admitted selling sex through an online escort agency and starring in an X-rated film.
The revelations have sparked a family feud, with Katie's sister issuing a statement on behalf of several family members distancing them from her "immoral activities" while Ms Vogel insists some of her family remain "supportive".
And there could be more to come with a documentary maker in talks with the pensioner about making a film about her life.
Waissel said: "In one respect I've come so far and achieved so much but on the other hand it would be horrible to leave now. For me, personally, to get through to the semi-finals would be so lovely, to get there after what I've been through. I've got the help and support of a lot of people which is getting me through.
"In the house it's noticeable that people have gone and it's quieter. We are all still close in the house. Rebecca and Mary have been so supportive, they have really looked after me. They have such good hearts and are very nurturing. We are really close."
She said this weekend's show, where the contestants have to sing two songs, was "scary" but she was "putting my head down and focusing".
Mary Byrne said one of her two songs, U2's 'All I Want Is You', was a very personal choice.
The Dubliner said: "My ex-partner offered me the world when he was trying to woo me but I only wanted him, I didn't need all the trappings around it.
"All I wanted was him. The words of the song are very relevant to me."
Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, who appeared on the show as a guest judge, makes her return on Sunday alongside 'The Wanted' and Justin Bieber.
