Former Happy Mondays star Bez was back in police custody tonight after being held at a London railway station.

The star – real name Mark Berry – was wanted by Greater Manchester Police after failing to answer bail over allegations that he breached a restraining order.

His ex-girlfriend Monica Ward claims the father of their two-year-old son pestered her with text messages and phone calls since he was convicted of assaulting her in August.

Berry, 46, who found fame with his freaky dancing in the Happy Mondays in the late 1980s, was held earlier today by British Transport Police at Euston station in London.

A spokesman said: “Mark Berry has been charged with breach of a restraining order and trespass on a railway.

“He has also been given a warning under the Harassment Act 1997.”

Berry will appear before Manchester City Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
