Sarah Jessica Parker is reportedly upset that Halston CEO Bonnie Takhar has been forced to step down.
The 'Sex and the City' actress - who is often regarded as one of the most stylish women of her generation – joined the label as company's chief creative officer in January but is devastated her close friend Bonnie has been ousted from her current role to the position of strategic advisor.
A source told New York magazine: "Sarah and Bonnie had a meeting on Friday in Halston's offices to discuss problems with the latest collection. Sarah has been a strong supporter of Bonnie for a very long time, and has been the sole voice supporting her against the board and shareholders.
“She has been fighting this for a very long time. She believed in Bonnie. She was emotional and upset because this finally came to a head."
Board member Harvey Weinstein admitted Sarah Jessica was overruled by the rest of the board.
He said: "Sarah Jessica is a huge supporter of Bonnie's, but it was time to change direction. It was the rest of the board that made the decision."
Although Sarah Jessica is upset her friend is stepping down as CEO, Bonnie – who joined the label in 2007 – said she thinks it is time to move on.
She said: "The business is in a great place and the board and I have decided to transition the business to another CEO over the foreseeable future. I have been in the business for nearly four years and it's time for me to pursue other interests."
