Waissel's 'X-Factor' future in doubt
Katie Waissel could be forced to quit 'The X Factor'.
The controversial singer, who narrowly escaped elimination from the ITV1 show last Sunday night after landing herself in the bottom two for the second time, reportedly caused chaos among the 'X-Factor' camp yesterday when she delayed a video shoot for the show's charity single by six hours.
After suffering from a spate of panic attacks that confined the kooky blonde to her bed for most of the day, producers are said to be considering asking Waissel to leave for the good of her health.
An insider revealed: "She's very fragile and we are very concerned. We are considering asking her to step aside because it is really affecting the show. She would still be able to do 'The X Factor' tour if she is strong enough. Her well-being is our priority.
"She has been in tears and saying she can't carry on. Producers gave Katie maximum opportunity to turn up, but had to shoot some scenes without her."
However, the 24-year-old hopeful's fellow contestants were less than pleased with the delay, and gave Waissel an "icy" reception when she finally arrived at the shoot.
The source added: "Everyone was gutted when they were told Katie would be a no-show. But they were more livid after realising they were going to be kept waiting more than six hours to allow her to make a last ditch appearance.
"When she did arrive, despite looking as pale as a ghost, she was given a very icy reception by her fellow contestants. There was a real atmosphere. Everyone is fed up with her diva-like antics. They feel as though she thinks the whole show revolves around her.
"Katie was really hurt by the reaction because she had been up all night, having massive panic attacks, and crying hysterically. She's hugely stressed at the moment."
