'The King's Speech' nominated for eight awards
Early Oscar favourite 'The King's Speech' has received eight nominations in the British Independent Film Awards.
The film concerns King George VI's battled to overcome his stammer.
Colin Firth is nominated for the best actor gong, with Helena Bonham-Carter up for best supporting actress.
Other films to get multiple nominations include 'Monsters', 'Four Lions' and 'Made In Dagenham'.
The winners will be announced in London on Sunday, December 5.
