Kings of Leon to headline Slane

Kings of Leon have been confirmed as headliners of Slane next summer.

The American rockers will play for 80,000 fans at the 30th anniversary of the Meath venue on the May 28, 2011.

Lord Henry Mountcharles said the 30th anniversary was "a huge spiritual deal" for him, and that he had been watching the career of the Kings of Leon very closely for two years and had been "blown away" by them live at Oxegen.

Tickets, priced €79, go on sale next Friday.
