Cole warns duo to behave on 'X Factor'

Cheryl Cole has warned Katie Waissel and Cher Lloyd to show the public their "softer sides".

The 'X Factor' judge - who mentors the pair, alongside Rebecca Ferguson and Treyc Cohen in the Girls category - has apparently told them they need to be on their best behaviour to avoid being booted from the show tomorrow.

The Daily Mirror claims she said: "The public needs to warm to you. You both need to show them a softer side."

This comes amid reports the girls are causing tension backstage with their demands and tantrums.

It has been reported the other contestants in the competition have been keeping their distance from the pair, with some refusing to talk to them.

After spotting the two contestants trying on their outfits for this evening's live show, the fellow wannabes were furious at claims TV bosses had spent more on their glamorous stage clothes.

One source told The Sun newspaper: "People couldn't believe how amazing they looked and were loudly moaning. But most people just ignored the two of them and refused to speak to them."

Tensions also rose over rehearsal time, with some performers checking their watches to ensure their rivals didn't go over their 15-20 minute rehearsal slot with singing coaches and creative director Brian Friedman.

A source said: "It was ridiculous how petty some people were being.

"They'll all be rushing out to buy stopwatches next week."

Meanwhile, Katie admits to will need to sing "from the heart" tonight to avoid landing in the bottom three again in tomorrow's results show.

She said: "I really want to just go out and there and sing from my heart and soul - and hopefully people will see that this weekend."
