Britney in court over control of affairs

Britney Spears has made a surprise appearance in court, sparking speculation that she may be about to resume control of her life.

The troubled singer was made the subject of a conservatorship – a legal arrangement in which other people take control of key decisions – in February 2008 after several high-profile incidents of erratic behaviour.
