Scherzinger urges Walsh to cross the pond
Nicole Scherzinger wants Louis Walsh to judge the American ‘X Factor’.
The Pussycat Dolls singer – who has reportedly been offered a role on the judging panel of the US pop star search show after impressing bosses with her recent stint on the British version – thinks the chemistry between Louis and Simon Cowell is key to the show’s success in the States.
She said: “The US public would love the relationship Simon and Louis have. It would be sad to break them up – they might be a bit lost without each other.”
Nicole also revealed how the 58-year-old boy band manager encouraged her to try and wind Simon up during her time as a guest judge on the show, when Dannii Minogue was on maternity leave and Cheryl Cole ill with malaria.
She explained: “Simon’s really fun when you argue with him or if you put through someone he really doesn’t like. Louis does that for fun – and I soon found out it was fun as well!”
However, Nicole believes Louis and Simon, 50, need a feisty woman like Katy Perry to keep them under control on the judging panel.
She added to Now magazine: “If you had those two you’d need strong women, that’s for sure! Katy Perry was really great and she handled the boys well.”
