A horror film for the kiddies, who do like to be scared witless so long as what’s on offer releases the frighteners with a lighter touch.

Not that this hasn’t a fair share of chills as brothers Massoglia and Gamble, having moved from the big city to a small, boring town with mum Polo, discover a seemingly bottomless pit in the cellar and opening the trap door release a bevy of ghosts.

So can the spooky former owner Dern provide the answers to what it’s all about … and if not there’s always the bikini-wearing neighbour Bennett to maintain interest.

It’s nothing special but it does have its moments since Dante can usually deliver films worth watching.
