McCartney to release new version of Wings album
Paul McCartney today announced he is to launch his campaign of album reissues in November with a revamped version of Wings hit 'Band On The Run'.
The musician has worked with the team which overhauled the Beatles’s recordings last year to remaster the 1973 release.
It forms part of a programme of releases which will cover his solo years and work with Wings.
McCartney is to release the albums through Concord Music Group after leaving EMI, which originally released almost all his albums – as well as the 1998 reissue of 'Band On The Run'.
The November 1 release of the album – seen as a high-water mark of his post-Beatles years, featuring songs such as 'Jet' and the title track – will feature lavish packaging.
One format will include an extra CD with more tracks plus a bonus DVD, while a four-disc version features a 120-page hardback book with unpublished photos.
The album will also be released as a download.
The chart-topping album is the first from the Paul McCartney Archive Collection, which will be drawn from 40 years of recordings.
