Cowell 'set to quit UK TV'

Simon Cowell has reportedly agreed to quit UK TV for the sake of his relationship.

The music mogul recently hinted he is to cut his involvement in British shows 'The X -actor' and 'Britain's Got Talent' to focus on launching 'The X-Factor' in the US, but pals claim he made his decision to spend more time with his fiancee Mezhgan Hussainy.

A source told Closer magazine: "She feels if they are really to build a future together, Simon should be with her most of the time in Los Angeles.

"Simon's in love, and for once he's putting his private life before work. He doesn't want to lose her, especially since he's so sick of the spats on the show. It was getting to the point where the bickering and demands from the judges, especially over contracts and pay, was just too much for him."

Despite some bickering with his fellow 'X Factor' judges Louis Walsh, Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue, Cowell has reportedly been offered a ÂŁ24m (28.7m) contract to remain at ITV.

However, the deal has been described as the network's final offer.

At the moment, it is believed 'The X Factor' will not run next year while Simon takes it to the US, and 'Britain's Got Talent' will fill its prestigious autumn /winter Saturday night scheduling slot.

Simon recently said: "At the moment you are going to see me doing one show next year - and not one in England. I have a contract for this year and that is it."
