‘Resident Evil: Afterlife’ a worthy addition to series

The fourth of the ‘Resident Evil’ series and one of the best, even allowing for the familiarity of the storyline (the films are taken from, though happily not solidly based on, a video game).

‘Resident Evil: Afterlife’ a worthy addition to series

Director: Paul WS Anderson

Cast: Mila Jovovich, Ali Larter, Kim Coates, Shawn Roberts, Wentworth Miller

The fourth of the ‘Resident Evil’ series and one of the best, even allowing for the familiarity of the storyline (the films are taken from, though happily not solidly based on, a video game).

Indeed, on this score the central character, Alice (Jovovich), isn’t featured in the games, allowing for plenty of interesting extended plot development.

Here Alice continues to search for survivors from a deadly virus in order to lead them to safety.

An old friend reveals that such might be found in California but is Alice and her charges being led into a deadly trap?

You get what you expect and it’s action-packed, thrilling and original … and well acted.
