Unless you’re a dedicated fan of exorcism films, with all their familiar clichés, you might decide to give this one a miss … wrong decision: it’s a cut above what you might expect.

It’s clever and entertaining, even with the customary clichés, and shot in the fake documentary style of 'Blair Witch'.

Rev Cotton Marcus (Fabian) has been conducting exorcisms since childhood but he has reached the stage where he is rapidly losing faith in what he does.

A documentary film covering his last effort at driving out Satan leads him to the blood-splattered home of the Sweetzers, where young daughter Nell (Bell) is acting up somewhat.

The battle commences.

Stamm brings a lot of new angles to a well-worked genre and pushes his film beyond the boundaries of being just another exorcism outing.

Star Rating: 4/5
