New family set for Carrigstown

A new family is set to make its first appearance on ‘Fair City’ in the coming week.

The Dillon family comprising Judith Dillon played by Catherine Byrne and husband Tommy (Geoff Minogue) are joined by daughters Neasa (Aoibhin Garrihy), Caoimhe (Aoibheann McCaul), Dearbhla (Kerrie O'Sullivan) and son Zak (Kevin Joyce).

Judith has been part of the show for the past few months, but will welcome the rest of her family to the soap very shortly.

Speaking to the RTÉ website, actress Byrne said she is excited by the new arrivals.

"I've been in it for a couple of months without my family so I'm really thrilled,” she said.

"It makes a huge difference because if you're on your own it's very solitary. Everyone's been here for years and you're the outsider but now we're a gang to be reckoned with."
