Top guests for Woods' solo project

Slash and Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea will both appear on Ronnie Wood’s solo album.

Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie has announced his first solo album since 2001, ‘I Feel Like Playing’, which will feature a number of guest stars– although none of his band mates appear.

Alongside ex-Guns ‘N’ Roses guitar legend Slash and Flea, there will also be appearances on the album by Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder, Soul icon Bobby Womack, country singer Kris Kristofferson and ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons.

The album is Ronnie’s seventh as a solo artist, and this aspect of the guitarist’s career pre-dates even his appointment to the Rolling Stones in 1975.

The album will be preceded by a single, ‘Thing About You’, and other track titles include ‘Sweetness,’ ‘Spoonful’ and ‘Fancy Pants’.

The artwork for the album was also produced by Ronnie and bears resemblance to his ‘I Feel Like Painting’ series, which was used by London department store for a fashion line last year.

Ronnie has previously said of his art: “Music helps me paint and painting helps me with music

‘I Feel Like Playing’ will be released on September 27.
