U2's Bono has been a guest at Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's Black Sea residence.

Mr Medvedev - a well-known fan of bands like Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin - complemented the singer for highlighting problems in Africa, such as poverty and AIDS.

U2 are playing their first ever concert in Russia tomorrow
