Orchestra to make festival debut

The 55-strong RTÉ Concert Orchestra is to make its festival debut at this year's Electric Picnic, it was announced today.

The celebrated orchestra is to perform in the natural amphitheatre of the Body and Soul Arena from 1pm to 2.30pm on Sunday with conductor David Brophy and some very special guests.

Set to perform in "their best Sunday attire" the performance will include "all shapes and sizes of musical magic from the Orchestra’s impressive repertoire".

The Electric Picnic festival is set to take place in Stradbally, Co Laois from September 3-5.

Weekend tickets for the boutique music and arts event are still available from Ticketmaster outlets nationwide, priced at €240.
