Rose of Tralee gets underway

The Rose of Tralee international festival kicks off today.

The event - which is now in its 51st year - takes place over five days in Co Kerry.

Today, there is a Rose of Tralee exhibition and a rose treasure hunt - with similar events taking place over the weekend.

The competition gets underway proper on Monday night when Dáithí O Sé will interview 32 roses from around the world, with the winner announced on Tuesday.
