Corrie's 'Curley' to star in Queen musical
Former 'Coronation Street' actor Kevin Kennedy is to star in West End hit 'We Will Rock You', it was announced today.
The actor, known for two decades as Corrie’s Curly Watts, will join the cast of the Queen musical next month.
Kennedy, 48, will play the hippy-ish librarian Pop, a role he has already mastered during a touring run of the show.
The star played Curley from 1983 to 2003, appearing in more than 330 episodes, and will soon be seen in a DVD Street spin-off.
He joins the cast of 'We Will Rock You', which was written by Ben Elton and has had a decade-long run, on September 6.
A number of other actors are returning to the show at London’s Dominion Theatre, including Ricardo Afonso as 'Galileo' and Sarah French as 'Scaramouche'.
Kennedy has showcased his musical aspirations in the past by leading his own group Band of Thieves and later landing a deal under his own name.
