Seasick Steve is to play on a boat in this year’s Electric Picnic festival this year, it has been announced.

The Blues star, who is notoriously susceptible to seasickness, will be relieved to hear that this vessel is located far from water but rather in the middle of Stradbally Forest.

The Californian singer will join Jerry Fish and the Mudbug club, The Might Stef, Sligo band Tucan and Canadian rocker Joel Plaskett on the Salty Dog stage, organisers confirmed today.

The line-up for post-apocalyptic techno stage Arcadia was also announced today.

Performers and acrobats perform late into the night on the stage’s six ‘tentacles’, amid flames that can rise up to eight metres in height.

Skuzzi Port (live), Fernado Tomas, Lektrosoul, Mcmash Clan, Arvenne, Soul Of Man, Noise Control (live), Wonka, Noisy Boy & Mc Carasel, Worries Outernational, Mixhell (Live), The Japanese Popstars and Spitloop will all perform over the weekend of the festival.

The Electric Picnic festival takes place in Stradbally, Co Laois from September 3-5. Tickets priced at €240 are available from Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.
