'The Last Airbender' another Shyamalan stinker

The basic problem with this unappealing, dull, charmless chunk of garbage is that director Shyamalan – who has never made a decent film – chooses to make a live-actioner from a TV animation series that is about the battle to save the Earth, Water and Air people from the evil Fire Nation … and air doesn’t actually lend itself to something we can, on screen at least, get excited about.

'The Last Airbender' another Shyamalan stinker

Director: M Night Shyamalan

Cast: Noah Ringer, Jackson Rathbone, Dev Patel, Nicola Peltz, Cliff Curtis

The basic problem with this unappealing, dull, charmless chunk of garbage is that director Shyamalan – who has never made a decent film – chooses to make a live-actioner from a TV animation series that is about the battle to save the Earth, Water and Air people from the evil Fire Nation … and air doesn’t actually lend itself to something we can, on screen at least, get excited about.

Young Aang (Ringer) is the lad who must grow up fast to do the rescuing … the trouble is the writing and directing are so dire, the characters so bland, the 3D so unnecessary we simply give up caring for what we’re watching as soon as the film starts rolling.
