Former Corrie favourie in hospital

Geoffrey Hughes is seriously ill in hospital.

The 66-year-old actor – who played binman Eddie Yeats in ‘Coronation Street’ and Twiggy in ‘The Royle Family’ – collapsed with back pains at his Isle of Wight home last Friday and doctors at Portsmouth’s Queen Alexandra Hospital gave him the shock news his prostate cancer had returned after beating it last year.
