Agnew's partner: Twink voicemail 'not a matter of public interest'

David Agnew's partner says she has no idea how a phone message left by his ex-wife Twink entered the public domain.

Dubliner Ruth Hickey is taking a defamation and privacy action against the Sunday World newspaper over articles published about her in May 2006.

Ruth Hickey said the message Twink left for partner David Agnew contained derogatory comments describing the birth of their now four-year-old son.

The 36-year-old said she didn't know how it had entered the public domain and that it appeared like wildfire after its details were printed by the Sunday World.

Ms Hickey said it wasn't a matter of public interest and that anything to do with her son was private.

She added that she felt the use of the word 'lovechild' by the paper was derisory.

Lawyers for the Sunday World will present their defence of the case tomorrow.
