Macpherson: Raising children in London was difficult
Elle Macpherson initially found it "difficult" to bring up her children in London.
The Australian catwalk beauty - who has two sons, Flynn, 12, and seven-year-old Cy, with ex-husband Arpad Busson - says it was hard at first because she had never experience city life.
She said: "I have always loved visiting London, but when I actually moved here with the father of my children and my eldest son it was difficult in the beginning because I missed my family, my mother, the warmth of home and California, where I had been living. I'd only seen children raised the Australian way.
"My reference point was children running around with no clothes on and feeding them everything and not washing their hands constantly and sending them outside to play with the neighbours, barely supervised. I had no reference at all for how to raise a child in a city like London."
However, the 47-year-old supermodel has now settled and says her children will always be her priority.
She told Britain's Tatler magazine: "I hardly go out at all if it collides with my children's bedtime. I choose to be with them because there is nothing in the world that ouches me more than that hour I get with them before sleep time.
"They talk about their day, what's on their mind and often I learn more about the boys in that hour than I do at any other time."
