That most English of actresses, the wonderful Kristin Scott Thomas, turns in a powerful and emotional rollercoaster of a performance in this quite excellent romantic drama, arguably the best of her career to date.

In the story written by director Corsini, Scott Thomas plays Suzanne, a mother-of-two who embarks on a wild and dangerously passionate affair with an immigrant handyman (Attal) that leaves her at the mercy of a husband (Lopez) seething with rage, bitterness and jealousy.

Her performance is one of full-on intensity, wracked with the guilt of her adultery and the consequences of it.

It is a sexy, menacing story with strong eroticism through it, all carried off brilliantly by an actress at the peak of her abilities.
