Dakota Fanning is delighted to be a part of ‘The Twilight Saga’.
The teenage actress – who plays Jane, a member of the intimidating Volturi vampire coven – confesses she was delighted when she was offered a part as she was a big fan of the original novel by Stephenie Meyers.
She said: “I’d read the books and seen the first film, and definitely I was a fan, and I was honoured that I got asked to be a part of this whole phenomenon.”
The 16-year-old star also admits she has become close friends to Kristen Stewart – who plays human character Bella Swan in the series of films – since they worked together on Joan Jett biopic ‘The Runaways’.
She told Vanity Fair: “In ‘The Runaways’ we played best friends, and we’re really great friends in real life.”
However, Dakota admits she is slightly regretful she didn’t get the role of Bella.
She said: “The parts are very specific and by the first one, ‘Twilight’ in 2008, the main roles were already cast, and so it was great that I was able to be a little part of it.”
