UCC awards Toibin doctorate

Legendary comedian Niall Toibin has been awarded an honorary doctorate by UCC.

The 80-year-old was recognised for his distinguished career on stage, television, radio and in films.

He has also worked hard throughout his life to promote the Irish language.

The proud Cork son said he is "deeply honoured" by the award in his native city.
