Little Britain stars Matt Lucas and David Walliams unveiled plans for their next series today.

The news show will be set in an airport. The duo will reunite for a six-part BBC1 series, which they will also write, taking on a range of roles.

The show, with a working title 'Come Fly With Me', is to be screened later this year. The BBC said there would be guest appearances in the shows.

BBC1 controller Jay Hunt said today: “It’s thrilling that Matt and David’s next big show will be on BBC1. They are uniquely talented comic writers and performers and 'Come Fly With Me' is a wonderfully exciting idea.”

Mark Freeland, the BBC’s head of comedy, said: “I’m proud and excited that the BBC are back working with David and Matt, two of the country’s most brilliant comedy talents.

“Also it’s great that it’ll be boom time once again for dress, wig and make up suppliers in the UK.”

It will be made a team whose work has included 'The Thick Of It' and 'The Mighty Boosh'.
