'Alice' joins billion-dollar box office club

‘Alice in Wonderland’ has taken more than $1bn (€810m) at the international box office.

The Tim Burton-directed fantasy – which stars Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen –is one of only six films to take more than $1bn in takings, and the third most popular non-sequel.
