U2 has been forced to postpone the North American leg of its latest world tour after Bono suffered a back injury.

U2 has been forced to postpone the North American leg of its latest world tour after Bono suffered a back injury.

A spokesman for the band said 16 shows on the U2 360 degree tour will have to be rescheduled while Bono recovers from surgery.

The singer was discharged from hospital in Munich this morning after undergoing emergency surgery on Friday.

Doctors say he will require eight weeks of rest to allow him recuperate and begin a rehabilitation program.
