Madonna is rumoured to be lined up to replace Simon Cowell on 'American Idol'.
The 'Celebration' singer is reportedly programme boss Simon Fuller's favourite celebrity to replace the music mogul on the judging panel of the reality singing show when he leaves to concentrate on launching a new version of 'Britain's Got Talent' in the US next year.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Simon is going to leave a gaping hole. Not only is he an expert, he's also a big star in the States.
"Everyone agrees Madge would be great and they want her as a full-time judge. But if that fails they'd at least like her as a mentor."
Band manager and TV producer Fuller is apparently desperate to hire an A-list star to help boost ratings and join Ellen DeGeneres, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi on the judging panel.
While current judge Simon - who has worked on the show for nine series - is sad to be leaving , he is keen for his replacement to be someone who knows the industry inside out and "who actually knows that they're talking about."
The new series of 'American Idol' is due to start filming in September.
