Arterton worried about over-exposure

Gemma Arterton’s family dislike her films.

The British actress – who played Io in recent movie remake ‘Clash of the Titans’ - admits her loved ones are not afraid to be honest with her, even if they have a negative opinion of her work.

She said: “I’m from working-class stock. It’s like: ‘We’re going to be straight with you,’ and it’s refreshing.

“My mum texted recently: ‘I just saw ‘Clash of the Titans’. Yeah. It’s alright.’ Then my cousin emailed, ‘Just saw ‘Clash of the Titans’, not a great film but the effects were good.”

The ‘Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time’ actress also admitted she is tired of seeing herself on movie posters after several of her films came out over a short period of time.

She added: “A lot of the films I’ve done are coming out within two months of each other. It’s like: ‘Oh God, everyone is going to be sick of me.’ Even my friends were going: ‘I saw your ugly face again on the tube.’ ”
